Bio
Dr. Sherin Mathews is a Principal Research Scientist within the A.I. Innovation Team at U.S. Bank. In this role, she develops innovative solutions at the intersection of A.I. & security in financial services. Her work involves developing transformative next-generation A.I. security solutions. Prior to her role at U.S. Bank, Sherin held research positions at Mcafee, Intel Corporation & Canon. Sherin is a repeated and requested industry speaker on her research papers in the areas of Cyber Security, Machine Learning, Computer Vision & Artificial Intelligence with recent industry presentations at RSA 2021, RSA2020, CyberSec & A.I. Prague, ICML2020, DataX Argyle 2020, Executive Women’s Forum (EWF) 2019 & 2021. She has a BSEE degree, with honors, from the University of Mumbai and an M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering focused on Signal Processing and Wireless Communication from the State University of New York, College at Buffalo. Additionally, Sherin has an MSEE in Software Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Machine Learning from the University of Delaware focused on developing deep learning algorithms with applications to wearable sensors. Based on Sherin’s contribution and the FIAT team’s contribution to security A.I. research, McAfee was awarded the 2021 Outstanding Organization Award by the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (CIS). She is also a past recipient of the University of Delaware Professional Development Award & received ninth place in the prestigious IEEE GRSS Data Fusion Contest. She currently has 13 patents, with several patents pending approval. Sherin has also received numerous recognition awards for her outstanding performance across projects at Intel & Mcafee. She has served as part of the Editorial Board of Computers in Biology & Medicine & has served as a reviewer for several conferences/ journals such as IEEE ICASSP, MLSP, GlobalSIP, ICIP, ICMI, and AAAI.
