At first glance, data scientists and creatives seem to exist at opposite ends of the spectrum. But in reality, by injecting creative processes and considerations into AI and machine learning, you can open the door to incredible possibilities and ideally generate tangible results for your data science team. We’ve lived through unprecedented moments in the past 12 months. From the pandemic to social justice movements, to work-from-home culture — these changes have impacted, and will forever impact, the way we see the world. But, as advanced as it is, machine learning can’t detect these changes on its own — it requires direction, context and creative expertise. Now is the time for data scientists to look to creatives as their partners, working together to develop techniques, algorithms and models that better contextualize the world as it changes around us. From a technical standpoint, this means adapting your tactics and protocols to help you better leverage creatives as a vital extension of your team. After this session, you’ll better understand: –The distinct functions of AI and creative teams, and how they can work together toward the same goals. –Tactical changes you can adopt to tap the creative team at your company to bolster machine learning applications — from leveraging subject matter experts in your day-to-day to creating feedback channels. –How to co-develop training sets for creatives to help create more accurate models + ML applications.
